Biography

Kate Kruller has lived and worked in Tukwila for more than three decades and has been a homeowner in the community since 1992. She brings a 30+ year career featuring broad experience in Information Technology and Communications, management and leadership.

Kate’s professional track record includes positions in information technology, government public affairs, communications management, business management, international business and trade, corporate communications, along with commercial media production and television broadcasting. Highlights include being a member of the station launch team at the first all-digital television station in Seattle, KTZZ-TV Channel 22, eleven years in communications and project management at the Boeing Company, worldwide webcast operations management at Activate.net streaming media company, working at King County with the Director’s Office at the King County Department of Transportation and at the Department of Executive Services in Finance, Payroll and Benefits, along with employment at the Washington State Department of Transportation Information Technology Division and the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (serving the Washington State Supreme Court), as Technology Director at Seattle Municipal Court, Information Technology management at the City of Seattle and now King County Information Technology.

Kate has also experienced unique opportunities to live and work in the world community – first as a media relations emissary working to improve eye care in developing countries with ORBIS International (the “Flying Eye Hospital”) and again in the international business and trade space under the auspices of the Washington Council on International Trade.

Kate currently works in Information Technology at King County, holds a board seat with two other organizations in the community and volunteers with her professional association.  She is a board member of the National League of Cities and serves as the Chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee at NLC.  Kate has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, a Master of Business Administration degree in Engineering/Technology Management, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) credential from the Project Management Institute.
